GANGLIA ("GANGLIA," "we," "us," or "our") operates the conversational entertainment experience at ganglia-ai.com. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using GANGLIA you agree to this policy. The experience is operated from Iowa, USA.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. If you instead create a local ("coven") account, we collect the username, email address, and a securely hashed password you choose. We use your email to verify your account and to grant a free daily summon.
- Voice and audio. When you speak to GANGLIA, your microphone audio is recorded in your browser and sent to our server, where it is transcribed to text using speech-to-text services. We use the audio and resulting transcript to understand and respond to you.
- Conversation transcripts. The text of your conversation with GANGLIA is processed to generate responses and may be retained for the duration of your session and for service operation, debugging, and abuse prevention.
- Voice cloning (optional quest). One optional, in-experience storyline may, with your in-the-moment consent, use a short recording of your voice to synthesize a brief phrase in a voice resembling yours. This happens only when you choose to proceed within that experience. See "Your choices" below.
- Purchases. When you buy summoning tokens, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles card details directly. We retain a record of your purchases and your summoning-token balance.
- Device and usage data. A random anonymous identifier is stored in your browser's local storage to track your summoning-token balance, along with basic connection and usage logs needed to run and secure the service.
How we use your information
- To operate the experience — transcribe your speech, generate GANGLIA's replies, and synthesize spoken responses.
- To create and secure your account and grant your free daily summon.
- To process purchases of summoning tokens and maintain your balance.
- To prevent abuse, debug problems, and improve reliability.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Service providers we share data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the providers that make GANGLIA work, each acting on our behalf:

These providers process your data under their own privacy and security commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Audio is processed to produce a transcript and is not retained longer than needed to provide and secure the service. Transcripts and purchase records are retained for service operation, support, and legal compliance, then deleted or anonymized. You can ask us to delete your data (see below).
Your choices
- Access and deletion. Email us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to close your account.
- Microphone. Voice features only work when you grant microphone permission in your browser; you can decline or revoke it at any time and use text instead.
- Voice cloning. The optional voice-clone storyline only proceeds if you actively choose to within the experience. You can decline and the rest of GANGLIA still works.
- Cookies / local storage. GANGLIA uses only the browser storage essential to keep you signed in and track your balance.
Children
GANGLIA is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
